Appropriate for Wednesday's game. Sure am glad we got rid of those uniforms.

Fun with Spring Training photos

Michael E. Keating at the Enquirer has been posting his photos from Sarasota on the Cincinnati.com website (although they're really tough to find). I spiced them a little.

I thought it was mean that Norris Hopper drove his truck over Yonder Alonso's new Corvette.

8 Years of Losing

The Enquirer says Mike Lincoln was wiping his face, but I know the truth. I know he was thinking about The Shame.

More pictures of Dusty in Florida

Dusty brushing the big Sarasota tooth, sailing, at the Dali Museum, at another art museum, and making a friend.

I just can't help myself. The Enquirer picture was screaming for the Adobe touch.

Some Hot Stove thoughts

I’ve changed my mind.

I think the Reds should consider Andruw Jones.

Yes, yes, I know that he’s had two Corey Patterson-like seasons in a row. But the guy doesn’t turn 32 until April. The guy was “Future Hall of Famer Andruw Jones” for ten years. Look at these numbers. While I don't think they are Hall of Fame material, that is some massive production there.

Apparently, though, he’s been working out with the Braves (even though he hasn’t been officially released by the Dodgers – they’re expected to do that today.) I’m not sure, but I think the fact that another team wants him makes me want him.

Thirty-two. 32. He was hurt last year, and he was fat. He is neither of those now. A player like Andruw doesn’t just fall off the earth like this. (I’m sure there are a couple of examples, but I can’t think of any off the top of my head, no one this extreme.)

Of course, if he makes more than a couple million, it’s not worth it. Or is it? (Not over Dunn or Abreu.)

I’m telling you, Andruw Jones is going to be Comeback Player of the Year, and I’d like to see him win that with “Cincinnati” stitched across his chest. Unless the Reds resign Dunn.

I can hear the cringes now.

Also, don't Trade Edwin. He's gonna have a massive year this year.

Bullpen exorcism tonight at 7pm

After watching history repeat itself for the billionth time this season, I began to reflect upon the reasons that this can continue to happen. After all, no human being with long experience such as Krivsky or Morron can be as dumb as to not do anything about a problem that is close to ending the season, and though either one or both of them might be insane, which would explain the repetition expecting a different outcome, I don't think insanity is the cause of such enormous suckitude. No, after much prayer and contemplation, I have come to the realization that the bullpen is possessed by demons.

It all began on April 17 in Milwaukee (yeah, our bullpen has been sucking for almost a whole month now and only one change has been made). Lest anyone forget, that was the game when Todd Coffey gave up five runs in the top of the seventh when it had been a one-run game at 4-3, Sausage lead. Then, as if Jesus had entered his body to combat evil, Bill Hall hit his first career grand slam. While Coffey was warming up in the pen, demons in the shape of sausages had floated up from Hell and took control of his body, as well as the lumpy bodies of the rest of the pen. They've been wreaking havoc on the Reds ever since.

To combat these evils, there will be an exorcism in the bullpen of Great American Ball(_P)ark. The souls of each reliever and Milton will be purged of unclean spirits which rot their abilities to get outs. Please keep these pitchers in your thoughts and prayers at 7pm when the ritual cleansing will take place.

This team is honestly bad

The Nationals have these great commercials where Lincoln and Jefferson lament the fact they can't go to the ballpark because they are stuck to their monuments. Looks to me like Abe got there. And like the rest of us who have seen the pitching staff give up 42 runs in 6 games, he doesn't look very happy.

Jerry Morron lied to us!

He said he was going to start Hobbs today!

Oh yeah, after Morron's blunders yesterday (leaving Arroyo in too long, mismanaging the bullpen again...) he's back to Morron.

UPDATE: Apparently, Hamilton has "flu-like symptoms" and could not play. Why do they always say "flu-like symptoms" instead of just flu?

Our Hero

Maybe today isn't the time to pick on Dmitri Young, given that he won the game for the Nats. But, I can't get the thoughts of him trying to run the bases today out of my mind. If I had been quicker, I would have videoed him running the bases and put it on YouTube. Dude is just a tub of lard.

The Nats have a few lardbutts on the team. How is Ray King even a Major League ballplayer? Ronnie Belliard?

Get yours by mail!

Yeah, it's a crappy Photoshop job, but I'm at work. I don't have time to pixel push today, but I think you get the point. Having Milton, Cormier, and Toothache on our roster is a disaster waiting to happen. Let's pray Krivsky is able to unload Milton and Cormier soon. Rumor is he's doing his best. I've heard the Phillies need some pen help...

Bwahahahahahahahahahaaaa...

Yeah, you are forewarned. I just bought a kickass digital camera for what I consider a lot of dough because I just got a raise, among other reasons. You will see the result of my images here throughout the 2007 baseball season and beyond...

These are my hats. Yeah, that's an EU flag in the background. The Reds hat is at least ten years old. The Nats hat was a Christmas 2004 present. My head is 7 1/8.

I'll be in NYC for the long weekend. Much practice will be involved. Oh, this will be fun.

Photoshop calls, and it calls loudly...

Here are some of my baseballs, just for practice. I get them when I go to stadiums. You can click on them if you want to see them larger. Sorry about the sideways balls. I'm still learning how to use this machine.

Auuuustin, I am your faaather...

Just to add to the discussion about the Majewski injury, I thought I'd provide an illustration of the battle at hand.

Those who may think I have it reversed didn't spend ten years rooting for a team GM'd by the dark one, watching him operate as a man with no conscience, no soul. The guy screws people left and right. Federal Baseball has more on the issue.

The phone call - someone is lying about the phone call! Did Krivsky call like he said he did, or did Bowden lie when he said he didn't call? Ten years of lies, deception, and being an all-around jackass earns Krivsky the benefit of the doubt.
