AAAH! What a busy day at work. I was called into a meeting with the score knotted at 2-2 in the eighth today, and boy, it was difficult to pay attention in there! Fortunately, it was a short meeting, and I returned to find Kearns and Phillips on the bases with no one out in the bottom of the ninth, just in time to see LaRue lay down his perfect sacrifice bunt. I gotta say, Tony must be getting senile in his old age, for why else would he NOT walk Valentin, especially after Valentin killed the rally in the one loss this homestand. It is stated in Baseball Canon Law that if you screw up once like that, you can't do it again! So, yay, Javy! Yay, Reds! 19-8, best record in baseball, two up on the Deadbirds...you can't ask for much more at this point in the season. This one's for the naysayers: HA!
I have a ton of work to do in a very short time for the rest of the day, so this post must be unillustrated, but who knows what this evening holds? In the meantime, check out this open letter to Roger Clemens at ...and this one belongs to the Reds.
