Nothing like a walkoff win

Boy, that was some game. It was absolutely freezing, but the ninth inning made it all worthwhile. I had eaten some nachos with jalepenos in an attempt to warm up because the one stand with hot chocolate and coffee in all of RFK was on the lower level. Didn't work. Those fireworks, did, though.

And despite the fact that it was cloudy and pretty dark, I somehow managed to get sunburn on my face. Which probably made me feel colder than it was. Friday's game is going to be blustery and far colder. Brrrrrrr.

To the left, Dmitri Young bats in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded right before he gets the game winning hit. Below is the scoreboard after the Nats won and the fireworks exploded into the ugly gray sky.

The rest: Ryan Church comes home after his three run blast put the Nats within two; Brian Schneider prepares for the game; Randy St. Claire doesn't know why Nats pitchers suck so badly; the Chief and his posse head down to the pen before the game; Teddy Roosevelt greets me at the gate; Abe Lincoln wins the Presidents Race.
